The Proper Rinsing Technique to Keep Your Smile in Tip-Top Shape

Posted .

A proper oral hygiene routine should include brushing twice a day, flossing once a day, and rinsing daily. However, many people don’t know that rinsing is a beneficial task, so they fail to do it each day. If you want a strong and healthy smile, please include this task in your routine. To help you do so, Dr. Ajey Varma has some instructions for you.

Before you begin rinsing, make sure you have the proper rinse. It’s best to have a product that has been approved by the American Dental Association as well as is antiseptic, fluoridated, or antibacterial. These characteristics help you clean your smile, strengthen your chompers, and even prevent major dental issues.

When you’re ready, read the instructions on the bottle. This will inform you on the proper amount of time to rinse. Most rinses encourage swishing for 30-60 seconds. Then, measure the desired amount of rinse into the cap of the bottle or into a separate cup. Pour the mouthwash into your mouth and then swish it around for the appropriate amount of time. When the time is up, spit it into the sink.
