Read over this list and commit to protecting your teeth by averting any of these hurtful habits:

You should never play a contact sport without a mouthguard. Physical contact can do serious weaken to your chompers.

Be watchful when chomping food while wearing mouth jewelry such as lip rings or tongue piercings.

Never open up things with your chompers; always take the time to get the right tool for the job.

Smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol can lead to gum disease, as well as many other diseases for your body.

Eating hard candies such as lollipops can rupture your chompers, so elect for softer foods.

Chewing on pen caps can damage your pearly whites enamel; we’ve seen it lots of times.

Grinding teeth during sleep, defined as bruxism, destroys both your sleep and your chompers; speak with us about a night guard if you think you clench your pearly whites while sleeping.

Blindly chomping food without sifting through it for tough pieces like bones can result in a broken tooth.
